Tin-phosphor bronze is an alloy copper, with good electrical conductivity, and is not easy to heat, to ensure safety at the same time with a strong fatigue resistance.
The bronze gib is manufactured with machined holes and/or grooves into which graphite is inserted. These graphite plugs act as the lubricant between the shaft and the plate. The graphite inserts provide a slippery coating that acts as ongoing, reliable lubrication between the surfaces.
